I just got a note from Jo at BerninaUSA.  She gave me this link to their blog spot.  Check it out!

View from my back kitchen window the other day.

I love it when the weeping willow trees start to show their color.  The plum trees showing their pretty pink blossoms.  A storm was blowing through.

The ground was soft from the rains and just perfect for starting my spring weed pulling!

Today our ladies met for our monthly Sewing Circle.

A new quilt was put in the frames for our faithful quilters.

Queena K. giving us some great tips on piecing our blocks.

We sewers are up to the challenge!

Many hands are busy back at the hat-making table.

Three different generations working together knotting the comfort top.

Linda and Kristen enjoying a visit with Grandma Schultz.  Doesn’t this picture just warm your heart?

This is the first time that Becky has brought her sewing machine.  Her two little girls were captivated by their momma sewing.

By the end of the day Becky and her girls had some special squares made.

    “Sew-and-Tell”

Connie pieced this top from a kit that was given to the sewing.

Allison was so proud to show this little outfit that her Grandma Mast made for her lammie and also showed us her sewing basket.  A birthday gift from Grandma Swartzentruber.

Julie showing her sewing basket as well.   These cousins treasured these baskets from Grandma.

Kristen  showing  us a dress she sewed for 4-H.

I was able to show Maxwell’s finished comfort.

  • Wonderful quilts, Polly — I always love your posts!

  • Max’s quilt is so very sweet! He will love it, it is wonderful. So it is quilted and all done then? Looks like it is in the picture.I always enjoy so much your pictures of your sewing group. It makes me happy to see so many young ones there learning and being a part of this.  Thanks for sharing this Polly.

  • The work you all do with the children and keeping them involved is one of the best parts of this group.  Max’s quilt is great!  The Bernina publicity shot of all of you is so good.

  • You certainly have made your sewings a treasured day.  Maxwell’s quilt is a Jungle Jewel.  I can just imagine his sweet lil face peering out the top or side of the quilt.  He’ll be a part of the jungle jam.

  • Another lovely Sewing Circle day! I really like the new quilt in the frame with the checker board. It is quite handsome. … And your quilt for Maxwell turned out GREAT. I love it. … And then I’m drooling over the scrappy quilt that Queena is spearheading. Wonderful, just wonderful!  … And I see Gramma Schultz is working on another “String” quilt.  Dark brown down the center with green on one side and other browns on the other side. Can’t wait to see more blocks of it put together.

  • Great post !!  Especially glad to see Becky and her girls Have lots of special childhood memories of her!!
