Busy with the grands.
A few pictures from last week.

Bo getting acquainted with our “thrift store” puppy.
It had been a while since Cheryl and the boys were in. They spent one day with me while Jeremy took to the woods. When he came in he said the whole time he was blasted with mosquitoes and had to constantly swat at them. Sounds like a miserable hunt to me but he was grinning and seemed to enjoy it.
Like father like son!

Queena and Ethan spoke at Youth Retreat in Pa. so I had their kiddos for a couple days. I was glad it overlapped the one day with Max and Bo so the cousins could play together. My I-pad seems to be a hot item with the grands as they patiently wait and take turns.

One day Holly helped me go through books and get rid of some. She did the children’s books while I worked on Quilt books. Books are my friends and I had a hard time culling to many.

Mark reading Dorie and James their bedtime story. I wonder which story he is reading to them. They both look a little concerned.

A delightful package came in the mail for me last week!

These are the new Kono Cottons that are a feast to the eyes. I’ll share later what I have up my sleeve to do with this lush assortment of color.

An array of 88 colors!
I can’t wait to get my hands and scissors on them!

Last weekend James and Dorie both spent a lot of time playing with the dollies. James was so fascinated with the way this dolls eyes blinked.
The little blanket was made by James Great-Great-Grandmother Vera Heatwole when she was 100 years old.

The little cradle was made by my father Oren when he was around 14 years old.

Sunday we had a Birthday Pie for John H. Our family loves this guy and always hate it when we know his time to head down to Fla. for the Winter is fast approaching.
God be with you John and know you will be missed by us all!

No pictures of our day yesterday.
We went to Baltimore Orioles Camden Yards, (a first for me). It was the Orioles last game of the season and a great game to see. Lots of excitement as they beat the Red Socks in the last inning.
There was an hour and half rain delay partway through the game. Our seats were back under a balcony so we didn’t have to move when it poured.
After the game we picked up Max and Bo for the weekend. Jeremy’s are helping their church in a Marriage Conference and we are glad to have the boys for a few days. I think if was after 3:00 before I went to bed. I just can’t seem to wake up today.

Archery hunting begins here on Saturday, so I am seeing some target practice as well.
Yep, it begins here Saturday too! And Jim has been target practicing. I don’t think Charlie is quite ready yet, but I imagine it won’t be long, because his daddy hunts as well. That Max surprised me with how big he is now! Glad you are having so much fun with the kiddos! And I can’t wait to see what you are going to do with that fabric!!!
Max is so cute and already a bowman! Know you have so enjoyed the grands. You are so blessed
enjoyed the pics thanks for sharing!
I simply love that thrift store doggie! He’s so cute, and there are no batteries! And I also love to see children play with dollies. So many children these days don’t know how. I would have loved to have gone through your culled children’s books! I’m anxious to see what you are going to do with the rainbow cottons. I am seriously thinking of making a quilt – my first!!! I found one at the benefit auction in Ohio that I really like. I took lots of pictures of it.
nothing like grandkids to make your day!
The fabrics look so yummy. I agree with Coleen, I would love to have went through your culled books. Barbara
As always I love your posts. You sure do find a lot of thrift store goodies.
