Mystery Quilt
I don’t have a clue!
I’ve always enjoyed a good mystery and when I saw that Bonnie Hunter was challenging quilters to join her in making a new mystery quilt , it caught my attention. But what made me really want to jump on the band wagon was when I saw that my sister Julia had already signed up and was taking the challenge!
We have no idea what the finished quilt will look like. Our first clue is to make 224 hour glass pieces measuring 2 and a half inches!
I’m using only fabrics I have on hand and my scrap bins. Each Friday Bonnie will give us another clue and new pieces to do that week. This should be fun!

I’m sure the end product will be wonderful!
That sounds fun. Wish I had the time.
@sweaters4u2 - Yes, it is fun. And I’m just taking the time.
I enjoy a good mystery myself and am anxious to see how your and Julia’s quilts turn out!
I MIGHT just try it. I bookmarked her blog so that I can do it. Right now I have a couple sweaters to knit first.
You can be sure I will be following right along to see how the mystery turns out. Don’t forget to keep us updated.
Like mother like daughter. Alma looks so much like her mom. This mystery quilt looks like fun, maybe another year.
@sweaters4u2 - Oh Peggy I do hope you join in on the fun. Bonnie is known for her wonderful scrap quilts and usually comes up with some really nice mystery quilts. It looks like this one is using up very small, small pieces. Bonnie has a “linky, thingy” where you can follow along with all the other people who are making the quilt. It looks like some people are going with different color combinations but I’m to scared to do that with not knowing what the end product is going to be. Hope you get those sweaters knitted so you can join us with piecing!
