  • A visit from Mother!

Another week has come and gone.  This week ended with icing on the cake.
      ~ A visit from my Mother ~

I had gotten a phone call earlier from Mother saying she had a ride to Delaware with a young gal from her church who was coming to a wedding in Dover.

I had my children in for some of the meals while mother was here.   We had planned an outside picnic for Friday evening but rains forced us to change our plans and move the picnic inside.

Holly and Heidi slicing, dicing and chopping for a supper of yummy chicken fajitas.  Everyone else brought side dishes.

After supper we enjoyed a time of singing around the table.

~ A successful Saturday shopping at thrift stores! ~

Good picture of Timmy, Diana and Maggie May.

    Love music in our home.

Thank you Heidi for asking my mother to join you on this trip to Delaware.   What a treat it was having you in our home and getting to know you better.

    ~ Parting Shot ~

I usually enjoy some reading time each day on my side porch.  The other day was was walking in the house when I spied a movement from the corner of my eye.  This little guy decided he had enough of the hot muggy weather and took advantage of Miss Kitty’s water bowl.

  • The toad photo is great.

What a lovely family! The thrift shop outing looks like it was very productive.

  • Oh Polly Wolly, don’t we have just the bestest Mother? She gets around, and lucky you to have her come your way! I loved everything about this post. I wish I could have seen all of your bargains. I saw Mother got some flowers to add to her collection! Especially loved the picture of Chris and Alicia at the piano. Tell them Hello from us. We so enjoyed their visit here!

  • Grandmother bought more silk flowers????!!!!  Have you seen her storage room? :) So glad she got to come up and see yall!! She’s so precious!

  • You must have some great Goodwill stores. I hardly ever find anything useful there.

Fajitas are sooo good, but they do require lots of slicing, dicing, and chopping!!

  • yay for thrift stores !

looks fun !and the Grey Tree frog is SUPER DUPER cute !!!!

  • Love the picture of you and Mother. It’s so wonderful how she gets around and we all enjoy being with her. Love the thrift store picture. I’m sure you all had a great time together. And I liked the singing around the table and piano music too. I can just “hear” how it must have sounded! Great post!

  • Polly, you have the best Mother ever, and in this shot you look very much like her. I don’t have to stretch my imagination to know what a great week-end you had thrifting.

  • Hey I know Heidi!!  Her brother, Levi,  goes to our church!!

  • Wonders me what bargains you found at the Thrift stores.    I went to an antique mall this past weekend on my visit home to my parent’s.  Unfortunately, I had to limit myself to very little as the Jetta just didn’t have room for anything.  I did find some old books and a nice basket.  Enjoy all the time with your mother.

  • I was going to say what Yvonne already said! We really enjoy Levi, and Heidi seems like a nice girl too. So nice your mother could come visit. It looks like you had a good time!

  • What a blessing to have your mother come for a visit!!  What a sweet little friend she has.  Friends, family, findings, and a frog — what FUN!!

  • I just love all the photos what better way to enjoy a family then be able to share a wonderful hobby.  Whether it is stitching or shopping or just enjoying each other….thanks for sharing your family with us.
