The Last Jar
Canning season is over for me.
I do enjoy canning but I am always glad when the last jar is sealed and put up on the shelf. This week I put that last jar up!What am I canning with these ingredients?
~ cabbage ~
~ peppers, green and red ~
~ onions ~Mark’s favorite relish recipe!
Christopher usually makes his appearance here on Mondays. That is the day he has set aside to work on his music and recordings. He has made a little studio in one of my spare bedrooms. Monday I went up to see what he was up to.
He told me it’s always good to drink a little honey with warm water to help clear your throat. So that’s where my honey bottle went to!
He even let me give it a try. Don’t you wish you could hear the sweet melody? On second thought I’m glad you can’t!
Last Sunday evening our church had a “Singing around the campfire night!”
What a great evening. As we sang the kids roasted marshmellows.
We had to laugh at Irene. I guess she was helping a grandchild and ended up getting more sticky then the child.
Yay for Coffee!
The littlest one there!I sure do LOVE my church family!
Thank you Greenwood Mennonite!

I enjoyed your pictures. I like when people love their church. It blesses my heart.
Great post, Polly. I can relate to the relieved feeling when the canning is done! I think I am done, but we will see if my tomatoes bear more than we can eat.
Love the look on that babies face
I’d love to see Chris’ studio and hear the sounds coming from it. Aren’t hymn sings wonderful? I love our first Sunday of the month hymn sings in the evenings.
The relish looks delicious.Could you share the recipe sometime?
Looks like you had ton of fun, and I love canning season !
Gotta love church campouts!
Just canned the last of my banana peppers today, and as I took the last jar out….I said to myself “you are DONE”. Now I see this relish and think maybe I should try a batch it looks so delish. Maybe I can finish up all my bell peppers with this recipe….I’ll call you if I get real energetic
