Church Camp
This weekend we had our annual Church Retreat at
Denton Camp.
Friday evening supper was hot steak subs.
Mike T. makes a mean sub sandwich. We sure do look forward to them each year.Young and old alike seem to enjoy the warm time of fellowship and fun.
I’m gonna let the pictures do the talking.Saturday one of the guys came into the building asking if I had a needle and thread. Hum……what could this be for?
I felt right at home!
Beth had a craft project for those who wanted to make fabric flowers.
The kitchen crew did a fantastic job!
Donna was telling me that on Saturday night they put together 40 pizzas in a little over a half hour! Now THAT is organization!
This next picture is so precious to me. Grandma Schultz celebrated a birthday on Saturday. All afternoon different ones stopped and visited with her bringing her birthday cheer. Her grandson Bobby, Diane and children joined us for the day.
I call Bobby one of my boys. He lived with us for many years on the farm when our boys were little.
Saturday evening we had a special guest.
“Jungle John and his live animal show”Jungle John is a two-time Guinness World Record Holder, and was
seen on the “Guinness World Records: Primetime” television show on FOX, the
Ricki Lake Show, and most recently on “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!” on TBS.
He sure held the kids attention, as well as making some of the adults right squeamish!
Just look at that snapping turtles mouth. He ended the show by bringing out a big boa and after talking about it let the kids pet it!
I didn’t take my camera for our Sunday morning service but we ended the retreat with a special church service and Sunday meal. Thanks especially to the committee for all the planning and hard work that went into the weekend.
~ I hate ending with all the reptiles but…..That’s all folks! ~

I had been missing you so much at our quilt class with Barbara, but now that I see these pictures, I know you were exactly where you were suppose to be – with your church family, enjoying them, ministering to them in so many ways, and letting God use you in many people’s lives! You are a brave woman to take all those reptile pictures. . . I would have left at that point. . . and I didn’t hang out looking at them here on your post too much, either!
That looks like a fabulous weekend! I enjoyed the pictures.
What an extraordinary amount of work must have gone into planning and making a weekend like this work! Looks like a fabulous time was had by all. Is that the same place we had our family campout one year?
I’m going to have to show my Caleb (7 yearsold) the reptile pictures..especially the snake ones. He LOVE snakes.
My boys have met Jungle Jim!
Great post, mom!
